Emergency First Aid at Work - (EFAW 1 day)

Intended audience

This course Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities. 

This emergency first aid training satisfies the criteria required for SIA licensing and refresher training.

What is covered in this course

This 1-day course ensures learners are able to understand, and where relevant, apply the following skills when helping an adult in the workplace. 

Learners will develop the skills and confidence to help someone who is:

• unresponsive and not breathing, including how to use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• unresponsive and breathing
• having a seizure
• choking
• bleeding
• suffering from shock and internal bleeding
• suffering from a burn.
• assessing a casualty
• monitoring a casualty
• where to get help
• electrical incidents
• accident recording and reporting

Assessment methods 

• 4 x Practical assessments
• 1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper).

Certification

Successful learners will receive a personalised Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) e-Certificate immediately after their results have been submitted.

This certification is valid for three years. The HSE do strongly recommend annual refresher training to maintain competence although this is not mandatory for the qualification.
